History[]

I was born in Illian. My father was from Illian named Bayleke and my mother was born in Arad Doman named Tamrelle. My father met my mother in Arad Doman when he was journeying to the west with my uncle, writing a book about different cultures. My father owned a large house near the great square of Tammuz and he was part of the Watch that maintained peace in Illian. My father used to tell me of his journeys and as years went on, by the age of eight I wanted to travel as well. On my ninth year, my father bought me a short sword and he taught me the basics of the sword and bow whenever he could and I soon managed to shoot a target and swing a sword without impaling myself. However, it was till along way until I could be as good as my father. At my last feast of Stefan, when we were listening to the competition of the Gleemen, reciting the Hunt for the Horn of Valere stories, one Gleeman mentioned the Master of Arms in Tar Valon and it interested me when the Gleeman was talking about the Tower Gaurds.

Two months after my last feast of Stefan, I moved to Caemlyn at the age of twelve with my parents as my father wished to open an inn there. We opened our inn in the New City almost opposite the Ball and Hoop. During the day I used to climb the rooftops of Caemlyn and look over into the Palace gardens with my mothers looking glass in hope to see the Master of the Sword training the Queens Guards that my new friends had told me about.

Two years after moving to Caemlyn, my father had an accident and fell from his ladder whilst trying to mend the inn's sign. Unfortunately, due to the accident, my mother was left a widow. My uncle Kili came to Caemlyn to help my mother run the inn, and I began to work in the inn too during the busy evenings. On my fifteenth year, my mother gave me my father's long sword and for months I trained in the largest room of the inn, which was a bedroom fit for an Ogier, with the hope of becoming a swordsman just like my father.

However, my mother pointed out two Aes Sedai to me who had stopped by our inn and their Gaidin accompanied them. The Aes Sedai's companions fascinated me by how strong and well disciplined they were, so after a month, just after my sixteenth year, I made my way to Tar Valon in hope to be trained by the Master of Arms.
